KAMPALA — Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced that he has blocked National Unity Platform (NUP) president , popularly known as Bobi Wine, on social media platform X.

In a post shared on his account, Gen. Kainerugaba referred to the opposition leader as "Zakayo" and said he had decided to block him because he no longer considers him politically significant.

"Today, I've decided to block Zakayo from my account. He matters very little in the politics of Uganda these days," Gen. Kainerugaba posted.

The development follows a series of exchanges between the two figures on X, where they have frequently traded political criticism and comments on national issues. The online confrontations have often attracted significant attention from supporters and critics alike.

Political observers say the latest move could signal an end, at least temporarily, to one of Uganda's most closely watched social media rivalries. However, given the history of public exchanges between the two leaders, it remains unclear whether the online feud has come to a definitive end.

Neither Bobi Wine nor his representatives had immediately responded to the announcement at the time of publication.
