AgaNaga has previously been vocal about the need to strengthen copyright protection for Ugandan artists. In 2025, he publicly supported efforts to advance copyright legislation, arguing that musicians and other creatives need stronger legal protection for their work.

The musician has also previously faced copyright-related controversy. In 2025, he denied allegations that he had infringed on an Afrigo Band song, explaining that he had only mimed part of the song during a television appearance.

The latest dispute with KFC could further fuel conversations about how businesses obtain permission to use copyrighted music in advertisements and the financial consequences of using creative works without proper licensing.
